We could learn a few things from the French people

Not a normal day for a newsletter. But Tuesday was a long travel day from Rennes to Reims, and then it was Christmas, and now we're already on the other side of it.

I'm sitting in a coffee shop called Moklair, which reminds of Dune back home—that is, they like to compete in barista championships. It's a nice little spot, in a neighborhood of Reims I haven't spent much time in. Which is surprising, considering how many times I've come here.

I keep thinking I should live here or in Bologna. I can't make up my mind.

If you haven't been to Reims, the cathedral here was home to the coronations of 14 (I think) French kings. The stained glass windows in the back of the cathedral are Chagall. Personally, I think it blows Notre Dame away, but I haven't been there since the restoration, so I'll be able to compare in January.

But I wouldn't sleep on another church here, the Basilica of Saint-Remi. If you haven't read up on Saint Remigius, he was an interesting person, as far as "saints" go.

Normally, I tell people to steer clear of Reims because I don't want anyone else to know about it, but I like you.
